Top 12 things to take before leaving for your kitesurfing session or trip!

Hello kite friend!

You're going on holiday soon and you're planning to take advantage of it to kite a bit? Or maybe just a short session close to home? You're quite right!
But as we know we all have a bit of an absent-minded side, we've put together a top 12 list of everything you need to have in your bag before you go kitesurfing!

Ready ?

Let's start with the obvious: kitesurfing equipment!
Do you think we're stating the obvious? A bit, I agree. But when you think about it, how many times have people come up to you on the beach asking for your pump?😉

1 - Your kite(s)

Whether you're the "full 5/7/9/12/15 quiver + 21m2 box wing" type or the "I've got a 10m2 that I take out between 12 and 40 kt" type, your kites are, as you'd expect, a must.
Of course, it's rarely what you forget, but you can never be too careful...

2 - Your board

Twin-tip, surf, foil... whatever your board, it's best to have it in the boot before you set off!
Oh, and make sure your board is complete. By complete, I mean with straps/pads, fins and handle (for the twin-tip of course).
Because without fins it works, but you need to master aquaplaning! 😉

3 - Your bar

There's no need to go into too much detail here, I think it's obvious to everyone.
A word of advice though, don't forget to check the condition of your lines and beam from time to time!

4 - Your harness

Now we're getting to equipment that is easier to forget.
You're excited to get out on the water, you leave in a hurry and you forget your harness !
And last but not least, make sure your wing leash is hooked on!

5 - Your wetsuit

Unless you're one of the lucky ones sailing boardshorts in warm, translucent waters, you'll need one (plus gloves, booties and a balaclava if you're one of the less lucky ones 😉 ).

6 - Your pump

Also check that you've got the hose and the nozzle.
Yes, I've taken the pump before and forgotten the hose... so don't make the same mistake as me!

7 - Your helmet

It's up to you.
We strongly recommend it. If you're wondering why, give us a call and ask to speak to Valentin. He'll be able to convince you of its usefulness! ⛑️

That's it, we've finished going through all the essential kiteboarding gear!
But did you really think we were going to stop there? Think again!
Because the difference between a good kiter and a bad one can sometimes be found in the details.

And we're off again!

8 - Waterproof pouch or car lock

For your car keys! If you don't want to hide them on top of the tyre or behind the suspension 😉
or maybe you've got a sparring partner on the beach who can keep them for you, in which case, this doesn't apply to you!

9 - Sun cream

I'm told it's effective against skin cancer.
Legend even has it that if it's coloured, it'll make you a better kiter (or at least people will think so)!

10 - A poncho

If you want to have impeccable style before and after your session, a poncho is still a must 🤙
It's also handy to avoid ending up with your bum hanging out in the car park 🍑

11 - A basin for your wet equipment

Your car will thank you.

12 - Beer !

Your friends will be grateful 😉
All jokes aside, an end-of-session beer with friends is clearly a must!
And if you're really a good guy, you can even store them in a cooler!

That's it, you're ready to go!
And to make sure you don't forget anything this time, we've put together a little pdf checklist with everything mentioned above!
To get it, click here !
hen you can print it out, laminate it and slip it into your wing bag so you always have everything covered!

Unless you forget your wing bag. No wing bag, no list. No list, no session. No session... no session.

And as always,
