Moisson-Lavacourt

Moisson is a well known spot for windsurfers, nowadays wingfoil is also practiced there! This leisure base located 75km northwest of Paris will allow you to ride all year long. Here are the essentials to know before going there.

Schedules and fees

The leisure center is open all year round. However, the schedules vary according to the periods:

  • In low season (October to April) → 9am-5:30pm with closing time at 6pm
  • In high season (May to September) → 9am-6pm with closing time at 7pm
  • The access to the base and the right to launch is not free in high season. It will cost you 7€ but if you plan to go riding regularly, subscriptions are possible. For more information, you can contact the reception of the leisure base, you will find their contact details at the end of the article.

    The spot

The lake of Moisson was created on the site of an old quarry. The lake has an area of 120 hectares. It is 3km long and 900m wide. The bottom is hard and hilly, composed of gravel, stones and without obstacles. On average the depth is 5m with a maximum of 6m. As is often the case on lakes, algae can develop in summer. We therefore advise you to call the base beforehand to avoid any unpleasant surprises when you arrive at the spot. Our little advice in case of abundant algae, the fishing rods in the trunk !

    The wind

The ideal wind directions for this spot are Northeast or Southwest. Other directions should be avoided if you prefer to prevent a too intimate contact with nature (in this case the trees).
You will find below a detailed explanatory diagram 😉

    Access

From Paris, via the A14 freeway towards Nanterre, then the A13 to the Bonnières-Centre exit. Approximately 70km and 1h drive from the northwest of Paris.
To park, you can go there 👇
